Schedule Instagram posts, Reels and Stories
Instagram only lets Business and Creator accounts publish automatically, and only through Meta's official API - which is exactly how Crosspost connects. Plan feed posts, carousels, Reels and Stories on one calendar with the rest of your platforms, and let them go out on time.
Connect Instagram in three steps
- Make sure your Instagram is a Business or Creator account (in Instagram: Settings, Account type and tools - switching to Creator is free) and that it is linked to a Facebook Page you manage.
- In Crosspost, open Channels, choose Instagram and click Connect. Facebook's own login window opens: sign in and approve access for the Page and the Instagram account you want.
- Compose once, tick Instagram next to your other accounts, choose a feed post, carousel, Reel or Story, and publish now or schedule it.
What you can post
Single images, carousels of up to 10 images, Reels (video) and Stories, from a Business or Creator account. Captions go up to 2,200 characters with at most 5 hashtags, Instagram's current rule (extra trailing tags are dropped at publish). Each image can carry its own description, and images outside Instagram's 4:5 to 1.91:1 range are padded with a blurred fill instead of being refused.
Reels and Stories, not just feed posts
A video goes out as a Reel, and an image or video can go as a Story instead. Everything sits on the same calendar as your feed posts and your other platforms.
A caption that fits Instagram
Write one caption for every platform, or give Instagram its own. At publish, hashtags beyond Instagram's five are dropped from the end of the caption, never from your own words.
AI images, labelled the way Instagram asks
Images made in AI Studio are posted with Instagram's AI info label and come with an image description you can edit, so accessibility and disclosure are handled before you hit publish.
Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule posts to a personal Instagram account?
No. Instagram only allows Business and Creator accounts to publish through its API. Switching a personal account to Creator is free and takes a minute in Instagram's settings.
Why does Instagram need a Facebook Page?
Crosspost connects to Instagram through Facebook Login, Meta's official route for publishing, and that route reaches an Instagram account through the Facebook Page it is linked to.
Can I schedule Reels and Stories?
Yes. Upload a video and it publishes as a Reel; choose Story and an image or video goes to your Story instead. Carousels of up to 10 images work too.
Does it post to Instagram directly?
Yes - through Meta's official Instagram API with the access you approve when connecting, with no aggregator in between. You can disconnect in Crosspost at any time.
How much does it cost?
Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial (card required, cancel anytime) - paid plans from $29/month with unlimited posting. Prefer no subscription? A one-time $9.99 Week Pass covers 7 days.
